Enlarge the boundaries of geomatic applications: a thematic (mythological) information system of the metamorphosis of ovid

Le Metamorfosi di OvidioAbstract
The Mythological/Thematic Information System of Ovid's Metamorphoses is shown, with the aim to enlarge the frame of Geomatics Applications, recognizing that these are outside the traditional contexts of Applied Geomatics. On the other hand, Ovid's Metamorphoses contain a long collection of myths of classical, Greek and Roman antiquity, and are very well apt to cluster homogeneous elements (i.e. myths), suggesting and hopefully inviting to different new approaches. The work starts presenting the Latin poet Ovid, his work and his modernity, and continues with the construction of the above mentioned Mythological /Thematic Information System, with the list of myths, contained in the 15 books of the Metamorphoses. Therefore, from the numbered list of people, it is possible to number all the names present in the original data, in turn, reorganized on the basis of an appropriate clustering, from the figure of Jupiter, with its relatives, often the result of intemperance, to all the Greek and Roman history from the creation of man, up to the late Roman Republic of Julius Caesar and the first Empire of Octavian Augustus to whom the figure of the same poet Ovid contrasted for immortal greatness.
