We describe a kinematic model of an articulated arm that is the main component of an AACMM (Articulated Arm Coordinate
Measuring Machine) and of a robotic arm. The operation and the parametric identification of an AACMM and of a robotic arm can
be easily performed by means of the model. The original model that has been defined is described and the interdisciplinary nature of
the job that we have developed is commented.
