Ethical Code of Conduct

Authors should follow the minimum standards of publication ethics.

  • Results should be presented without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation (including image-based manipulation).
  • Authorship and contributorship: authors should be limited to those who contributed significantly to the work; "honorary authorship” is not permitted. Third parties who added something substantial to the work but do not qualify as authors should be mentioned as contributors in the acknowledgment section.
  • The Corresponding Author listed on the manuscript is responsible  that all appropriate co-authors are included, that all co-authors have approved the final version of the article and have agreed to its submission for publication. All co-authors share collective responsibility and accountability for the results.
  • If re-using data and text from an author’s past-published manuscript, it must be clearly stated and transparency should be provided on how much is new in comparison to the previous publication.
  • The work of others should always be properly acknowledged.
  • Authors are requested to disclose interests that are directly or indirectly related to the work submitted for publication. Disclosure of interests provides a more complete and transparent process and helps readers form their own judgements of potential bias.
  • Authors have an obligation to correct mistakes once they discover a significant error or inaccuracy in his / her own published work either with a correction or retraction. The editorial board will decide with the authors on which is most appropriate.
  • Allegations of misconduct: if there is a suspicion of misbehaviour the author will be contacted by a member of the editorial board for clarification and further steps. In case no feedback is provided, then the corresponding affiliation will be contacted.
  • Complaints and appeals are to be sent to redazione@sifet.org and will be processed by the editorial board.
